I just didn’t like the secondary pairing, it felt too forced and there was no gratification even as a reader with them… I’d much rather we had explored the relationship between the (ex)wife and Fred, the little bro and the teacher were just too off-putting in this story. I wouldn’t have minded if they had their own story separate from this, though, since the overall vibe was that much different
